Country: England
Distance travelled:
Weather: variable

We didn’t really get up to much today. A meandering drive through the Lakes District which has become my favorite part of England had us oohing and aahing over the scenery. More of the same when we reached Wray Castle which is a ‘mock’ gothic castle built in the 1840’s.

As soon as we were in a location with reasonable reception (the carpark of a Morrisons supermarket where we had stopped to get some supplies) we rang Marks’ Aunt Liz and her partner Alan to tell them we were in the area and ask would it suit them if we dropped into their van in Morcambe for a visit. They were heading out for dinner with some friends but were more than happy to let us use their kitchen and shower. We parked up the lane at a stop where the owner said that since he was booked out, as long as we were fully self contained which we are, apart from the fridge problem, then we could part in his carpark for free. Alan owes the owner, Dave, a pint now though. We walked back from Liz and Alan’s van at 11.30pm in the quiet darkness and were snoring away by midnight.
